Episode 1: IP67 Rating - Dust and Water

IP stands for Ingress Protection. In an IP67 rating, the first digit (6) represents the highest level of defense against solid particles, including windblown dust and microscopic airborne debris. The second digit (7) signifies superior water-ingress protection, allowing IP67-rated enclosures to endure water jet sprays and brief immersion in water at depths ranging from 150mm to 1000mm for up to 30 minutes.

These enclosures are designed to perform reliably in indoor, outdoor, wet, and challenging industrial or commercial environments.

What are IK and IP Ratings?

IK Impact Protection is the degree of protection that enclosures provide against external mechanical impacts.

IP ratings, or Ingress Protection ratings, indicate how well an electrical enclosure is safeguarded against the entry of solid objects (such as dust) and water.
